About Me

First and foremost I am a son, a partner, and a father. I’m an introspective sort, always puzzling on something or other in my mind!

Throughout my working life, I’ve immersed myself in a wide variety of remodeling projects, honing my skills and building expertise. My journey began in Denver, CO, where I started working for myself as a young adult performing small home improvement projects for local realtors to prepare homes for listing. I eventually started a career in the tenant finish industry, where I quickly worked my way up from laborer to superintendent, project manager, estimator, and eventually, vice president of a reputable firm. Along the way, I managed everything from small repairs to high-end, occupied remodels, including commercial office renovations and capital improvement projects.

In 2010, I met my life partner, Anne, while working on a theater renovation project. This led to a career shift, allowing me to spend more time with my young family while working at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. In my time at the DCPA, I learned the value of regular maintenance and experienced firsthand how small investments over time extend the useful life of machinery, tools and equipment, which helps avoid large, unplanned expenditures.

In 2019, I embarked upon a new adventure—traveling the Western US in a converted school bus. This journey brought us to Asheville, where we’ve set down roots and are excited to be part of this vibrant community.

I’ve always enjoyed working in homes - I’ve remodeled all or part of every home I’ve lived in for my entire adult life. Over the years I’ve had the chance to do everything from demo back to the studs and create a fully finished space, to adding some cosmetic improvements, basement finish, complete bathroom remodel, and more!

My Vision for Politzki Services

I aim to leverage my unique experiences to provide exceptional service for small projects. My goal is to build meaningful connections, offer creative solutions, and serve our diverse community with integrity and care, treating every project as if it were in my own home.

  • I live in Weaverville and love I when I can work close to home, so I try to focus on finding work in Weaverville and Asheville proper.

  • For every project I provide a detailed estimate, including a clear scope of work, so you know what’s included, any assumptions I’ve made, and anything you’re responsible for - everything clear and upfront. For tasks that are ongoing, my rate varies between $55 and $75 per hour.

  • I am registered with Buncombe County, so I can obtain building permits, and I have general lability insurance in the amount of 1M. This means I am able to complete projects valued at up to $30K. I am not a licensed General Contractor, and am not currently taking on projects valued above $30K.

  • No. I am a sole proprietor and do most of the work myself - I have a few folks I can reach out to when I need another pair of hands, but I’m focused on self performing work so I can ensure the highest level of quality and attention to detail.

If a project requires other tradespeople, they would need to contract directly with the homeowner or customer, not through me.
